One day in DAKAR

24 hours in Dakar : Vibrant, noisy, sprawling, polluted… there is no shortage of adjectives to describe the Senegalese capital. It is certainly difficult to get around Dakar in all its nooks and crannies in 24 hours, as the city is scattered and the traffic is often dense and arduous. In fact, it takes 24 hours to get used to this seemingly “violent” city, especially if you come from the Sine Saloum like us. Fortunately, we put our backpacks down at the La Madrague Surf-plage-mer hotel, which is not in the city center, just on the waterfront facing the island of N’gor, choosing to breathe and walk quietly.

For those of us who are addicted to navigating the city and doing everything on foot, we have to realize that this is impossible in Dakar. The best bet is still to take a bus or cab, despite the endless traffic jams.
