Saly guide: what to see and do in Saly?

A popular tourist destination, the seaside resort of Saly looks a bit like St Tropez in the 1950s. It is always very pleasant to visit because of the warmth of its inhabitants and the beauty of its landscape. However, it is a tourist town in “Africa”. The resort has the privilege of a beautiful location: golden sandy beaches, endless coconut trees and an ever-calm sea, where luxury hotels, cafés and restaurants follow one another. Basically, the town was a Portuguese trading post. In fact, it was the Portuguese who gave it the name “Sali Portugal”, which over the years has changed to “Saly Portudal” and to simplify “Saly”. The seaside resort was inaugurated in 1984, the year Senegalese tourism began.
